Noah Cleveland earns third CCIW weekly honor after leading IWU past Wheaton
Illinois Wesleyan University sophomore forward Noah Cleveland has been named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week. This is Cleveland's third time receiving the honor this season.
Cleveland, who is from Normal, Illinois, scored 30 points on 13-of-17 shooting in Illinois Wesleyan’s 80-61 victory over Wheaton on Saturday. He also recorded 13 rebounds for his 11th double-double of the season. In addition to his scoring and rebounding, Cleveland contributed three assists, two steals, and one block while playing 33 minutes.
During the game, Cleveland helped Illinois Wesleyan outscore Wheaton 38-20 in points inside the paint. He scored eight points during a key second-half stretch that increased the Titans’ lead to 25 points. The team held Wheaton to just 34.5 percent shooting from the field.
The CCIW has recognized several student-athletes for their performances throughout the season. Other recent honorees include Soren Richardson of Wheaton, Lane Thomann of Millikin, Kolden Vanlandingham of North Park, and Mike Vuckovic of North Park.
