Mattio and Stallworth named final CCIW women’s soccer athletes of the week
North Central’s Gabriella Mattio and Carthage’s Ainsley Stallworth have been named the final College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Soccer Student-Athletes of the Week for the 2025 season.
Mattio, a junior from Plainfield, Illinois, scored both goals in North Central's 2-0 victory over Wheaton last Wednesday. This win secured the outright league title for North Central College. According to the CCIW, this was Mattio’s first multi-goal performance in her career.
On the defensive side, Ainsley Stallworth from Carthage made seven saves in a 1-0 shutout against North Park last Wednesday in Kenosha. The match marked Stallworth's seventh shutout of the season and the 13th of her college career.
The CCIW also released a full list of weekly honorees for both offensive and defensive categories throughout the 2025 women’s soccer season. Offensive recipients included student-athletes from North Central, North Park, Illinois Wesleyan, Elmhurst, Millikin, and Carthage. Defensive honors were distributed among players from Carthage, North Central, North Park, Elmhurst, Wheaton, Carroll, and others.
