July-Dec. 2018 Recap: Parolees in Addison convicted of drug crimes
There were four offenders convicted of drug crimes released on parole in Addison during the second half of 2018, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the DuPage Policy Journal.
The data shows that four men were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for drug crimes was 39. The youngest parolee was a 34-year-old man sentenced in 2017, and the oldest was a 51-year-old man sentenced in 2015.
The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Vincent M. Howard. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2015 when he was 47 years old. He is now 51.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
