Illinois Wesleyan University sophomore forward Noah Cleveland has been named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week, following a strong performance during the opening weekend of the basketball season. This recognition makes Cleveland the 13th player in program history to receive this national honor and the first since Matthew Leritz was selected in February 2022.

Cleveland helped lead the 16th-ranked Titans to a 2-0 start by winning the fifth annual Sikma Hall of Fame Invitational, held November 14-15 at Illinois Wesleyan’s Shirk Center. The team secured victories over Illinois College, with a score of 71-67, and UW-Oshkosh, with a score of 75-68. Cleveland was also named MVP of the tournament.

Over two games, Cleveland averaged 16 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks per game. In his collegiate debut against Illinois College, he recorded 16 points, 13 rebounds, three blocks, and one steal. In the championship game against UW-Oshkosh, he posted another double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds along with four blocks, one steal, and an assist. He made more than half his field goal attempts for the weekend.

Illinois Wesleyan will conclude its three-game homestand on Wednesday, November 19 at home against No.11 University of Chicago. Before tipoff, IWU will recognize former Titan Nick Roper—now a graduate student at UC—during his return to Shirk Center.
