Illinois Wesleyan University and Carroll University have both secured spots in the latest D3hoops.com Top 25 poll, according to an announcement from the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW). The poll, released Monday, places Illinois Wesleyan at No. 17 and Carroll at No. 24.

Illinois Wesleyan received 182 points in the poll after achieving a 2-2 record during the first two weeks of the season. The Titans recorded wins against Trinity (Texas) with a score of 73-63 on November 15 and Franciscan with an 88-56 victory last Friday. In addition to their ranking in the D3hoops.com poll, Illinois Wesleyan is also ranked 25th in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) poll released Tuesday.

Carroll holds a record of 3-2 and earned its spot in the rankings after defeating Wartburg 67-61 last Saturday in Waukesha. The Pioneers accumulated 83 points in the D3hoops.com poll and have additional victories over St. Norbert (75-48 on November 8) and Beloit (72-45 on November 12). While Carroll was not ranked by the WBCA, it did receive 13 points in that poll.

The top five teams in this week’s D3hoops.com rankings are NYU, Scranton, Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Smith, and Johns Hopkins. Carroll’s only two losses include a close game against Oshkosh on November 7 that ended with a score of 62-59. Bowdoin is listed as fifth in the current WBCA poll.
