Illinois announces finalists for new state flag design

The Illinois Flag Commission has unveiled the top 10 finalists in the competition to design a new state flag. The public will have the opportunity to participate in the selection process starting in January. They can choose from among the 10 finalist designs, retain the current state flag, or opt for one of Illinois' historic flags.

This initiative is part of an effort to engage citizens in shaping a symbol that represents their state's identity and heritage.
