Hinsdale Middle School sixth graders display interactive human body system models
Sixth-grade students at Hinsdale Middle School recently participated in an interactive science event, where they created models to illustrate various human body systems. The event was part of a Body Systems Project organized by Ms. Tolbert's and Ms. Pelak's classes.
The school's gymnasium was set up as a science exhibition, welcoming parents and family members to view the projects. Students used materials such as balloons, tubes, and LEGOs to explain processes like digestion and the nervous system. They also demonstrated what happens when these systems are injured or malfunction.
Students presented their models to visitors, explaining their learning and sharing knowledge with the community. According to organizers, this approach helped deepen students' understanding of biology while providing an opportunity for engagement with local families.
