DuPage County officials report 463 coronavirus deaths, with 8,825 confirmed cases
There have been 8,825 confirmed coronavirus cases in DuPage County as of June 25, with 463 deaths linked to the virus, according to data from the state Department of Public Health (IDPH).
Chicago (51,267 cases) and Cook County (37,383 cases) posted the highest numbers statewide. Chicago's death toll from the virus stands at 2,558, while Cook County recorded 1,942 deaths, according to the IDPH.
Illinois residents who have been tested for COVID-19 now number 1,460,527, the department reported. And the age group with the most confirmed cases was 40 to 49, with 24,558 people in the age group testing positive for the virus.
Among all those testing positive in Illinois, 65,904 were male and 70,939 were female, the IDPH said. Male deaths linked to coronavirus numbered 3,712, while female deaths stood at 3,092.
Broken down according to race, the fatalities consisted of 3,024 Asians, 3,024 whites, 1,906 African-Americans, 1,393 Hispanics, and 164 belonging to other races or who did not provide their ethnicity before they died.
