City of Elmhurst Public Works & Buildings Committee met Oct. 27

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

1. Call to Order

Ald. Bastedo called the meeting to order at 7:00p.m.

2. Roll Call – Attendance: -

Present: Committee Members

Ald. Bastedo

Ald. Bram

Ald. Baker

Ald. Irby

Absent: None

Quorum Present: 4 present - (quorum)

Also in attendance: Public Works Director Balicki

City Engineer Sianis

Public Present: None

3. Public Comments:  None

4. Receipt of Written Communications:  None

5. Business Before the Committee:

A. Minutes of the October 14, 2025, Public Works & Building Committee:

Ald. Irby motioned to approve the October 14, 2025 Minutes of the Public Works & Building Committee; Ald. Bram seconded Voice vote. Motion carried 4-0 (Bastedo, Bram, Baker, Irby). Minutes approved.

B. First Street and Park Avenue Bridge Painting - Construction Bids:

City Engineer Sianis presented the agenda item. Ald. Bram motioned to approve the draft report; Ald. Baker seconded. Voice vote. Motion carried 4-0 (Bastedo, Bram, Baker, Irby)  Report approved.

C. IDOT Joint Funding Agreement for Construction Amendment - Route 83 Pedestrian Bridge:

City Engineer Sianis presented the agenda item. Ald. Bram motioned to approve the draft report; Ald. Irby seconded. Voice vote. Motion carried 4-0 (Bastedo, Bram, Baker, Irby)  Report approved.

D. Route 83 Pedestrian Bridge-DuPage County Wetlands Fee-in-Lieu:

City Engineer Sianis presented the agenda item Ald. Baker motioned to approve the draft report; Ald. Irby seconded. Voice vote. Motion carried 4-0 (Bastedo, Bram, Baker, Irby)  Report approved.

6. Other Business:

• Ald Baker – Resident w/wheelchair voiced concerns with the sidewalks around Jewel and the fountain downtown. Will forward contact information to City staff for follow up.

• Ald. Bram – Inquired about the status of the Crestview sidewalks project and the completion date. City staff will reply to the Committee with information.
