Chuck Yrigoyen has been appointed as the Interim Executive Director of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW), effective Tuesday. Yrigoyen brings over thirty years of experience in collegiate athletics to the role.

Yrigoyen currently serves as Commissioner of the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) and previously led the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) from 2008 to 2021. During his time with A-R-C, he managed notable growth, including adding Nebraska Wesleyan University and leading a rebranding effort. He also established a biennial Student-Athlete Leadership Conference aimed at enhancing student-athlete engagement and development. His national involvement includes work on the NCAA Convention Planning Subcommittee and serving as President of the Division III Commissioners Association (DIIICA).

Before his commissioner roles, Yrigoyen worked for nineteen years with the Ivy League, advancing from Assistant Director for Public Information to Associate Director. There, he was responsible for developing the league’s first website, expanding its public information efforts, managing television logistics for major sports broadcasts, overseeing championship events administration, conference scheduling, competition policy, and officiating programs across ten sports.

Yrigoyen succeeds Maureen Harty, who announced her retirement in September. Harty will remain with CCIW as Special Assistant to the Executive Director through June.
