Carthage College sophomore Alaina Hollendoner has been named the Women’s Wrestling Student-Athlete of the Week by the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) following her performance at the Fred Johnson Duals.

Hollendoner competed in the 124-pound weight class during the event hosted by Augustana on Saturday. She recorded a 10-0 technical fall against Hannah Suboni-Kaufman of Augustana, who was ranked fifth in Region 5 and is considered one of the league’s top competitors. Hollendoner also secured a 6-4 decision over Kyna Moffit from Augustana, contributing to Carthage’s early lead in its dual against the Vikings. Earlier that day, Carthage defeated Upper Iowa with a team score of 36-8.

The CCIW continues to recognize student-athletes for their achievements in women’s wrestling throughout the season. Other recent honorees include Josie Hosea and Jasmin Ocampo from Carthage, Shenita Lawson from North Central, Moni Griffin from Augustana, Viola Pianetto from Elmhurst, and Riley Rayome from North Central.
