Augustana College's Moni Griffin has been recognized as the CCIW Women’s Wrestling Student-Athlete of the Week after her performance at the Luther Open. Competing in the 131-pound weight class, Griffin achieved a 5-0 record at the event held last Saturday, recording four pins and a technical fall in less than four minutes total mat time.

Griffin, a junior from Chicago, began her run with two first-period pins against Emma Warth (22 seconds) and Ashton Hofeling (50 seconds), both from Southeastern. In the quarterfinals, she pinned Mia Ahrendsen of Hawkeye in 39 seconds. She then earned a 10-0 technical fall over Wartburg’s Kaydn Meyer in just 1 minute and 16 seconds before finishing with a 36-second pin against Upper Iowa’s Kylee Shoop to claim the title.

With these results, Griffin improved her season record to 6–3.

The weekly CCIW Women’s Wrestling Student-Athlete honors for the current season have also included Viola Pianetto from Elmhurst on November 11 and Riley Rayome from North Central on November 4.
