Analysis: Elmhurst pays $4.87 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Elmhurst Police Pension Fund
Taxpayers contributed 83 percent of the $3,594,736 the Elmhurst Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $4.87 for every $1 from pension members, according to a DuPage Policy Journal analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.
In all, Elmhurst contributed $2,982,703 to the fund, which saw a $569,528 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $612,032, or 17 percent, in 2016. Another $1 came from other unspecified sources.
