Adriana Crabtree earns All-America honors at NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships
Illinois Wesleyan University senior Adriana Crabtree finished 17th at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships held on November 22 at Roger Milliken Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Competing against a field of 290 runners, Crabtree achieved the highest finish in program history and earned First Team All-America honors.
Crabtree became the first Illinois Wesleyan athlete to compete in three consecutive NCAA Championships. She began the race with a strong start, recording a 3:13.2 opening split and sitting in 15th place with five kilometers remaining. Although she dropped to 32nd before the final stretch, she managed an impressive finish by moving up 15 places to complete the course in 21:29.5 and secure her spot among the top competitors.
Her performance surpassed previous records set by Illinois Wesleyan athletes, including Erin McCarey's 21st-place finish in 2015. Crabtree is now one of only four Titans cross country runners—and just the third woman from the university—to achieve All-America status.
Audrey Maclean of Middlebury won the individual championship with a time of 20:16.8, while New York University secured the team title with a total of 79 points.
