2019 Recap: Parolees in Aurora convicted of crimes against persons
There were 13 offenders convicted of crimes against persons released on parole in Aurora during 2019, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the DuPage Policy Journal.
The data shows that 12 men and one woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes against persons was 37. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old man sentenced in 2019, and the oldest was a 51-year-old man sentenced in 2012.
The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Devonta Moore. He was convicted of a crime against a person in 2014 when he was 25 years old. He is now 30.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
