Wood Dale School District 7 students suspended 77 times in a single school year
Wood Dale School District 7 reported 77 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.
According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 77 students during the year. That equates to 6.9 percent of the 1,110 students enrolled.
Of the 65 in-school suspensions, 50 were given to boys and 15 were given to girls, all of whom were elementary or middle schoolers.
The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 33 incidents. There were 25 incidents of violence without physical injury. For 54 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
Of the 12 out-of-school suspensions, all were given to boys, all of whom were elementary or middle schoolers.
