Will County officials report 310 coronavirus deaths, with 6,317 confirmed cases
There have been 6,317 confirmed coronavirus cases in Will County as of June 20, with 310 deaths linked to the virus, according to data from the state Department of Public Health (IDPH).
Chicago (50,425 cases) and Cook County (36,460 cases) posted the highest numbers statewide. Chicago's death toll from the virus stands at 2,491, while Cook County recorded 1,899 deaths, according to the IDPH.
Illinois residents who have been tested for COVID-19 now number 1,336,968, the department reported. And the age group with the most confirmed cases was 40 to 49, with 24,125 people in the age group testing positive for the virus.
Among all those testing positive in Illinois, 64,391 were male and 69,144 were female, the IDPH said. Male deaths linked to coronavirus numbered 3,622, while female deaths stood at 2,995.
Broken down according to race, the fatalities consisted of 2,938 Asians, 2,938 whites, 1,862 African-Americans, 1,341 Hispanics, and 164 belonging to other races or who did not provide their ethnicity before they died.
