Breath Of Life Professional Service reported the highest government grant share of revenue among non-profits in Westmont, Illinois for 2024, with government grants equal to 100.0% of its reported total revenue — $497,562 in government grants against $497,562 in total revenue.

The ranking reflects non-profits with available Form 990-series data for which a government-grant share of total revenue could be calculated, meaning reported government grant revenue divided by reported total revenue, and may not include every non-profit in the city. The share is a historical, descriptive measure for the tax year shown.

The ranking is based on IRS Form 990 filings, the annual information returns most tax-exempt organizations file with the IRS. The form includes reported revenue, expenses, assets, governance information and compensation paid to certain people, making it a public source for comparing large tax-exempt organizations' finances.

The figures reflect what each organization reported for its filing year, including total revenue, contributions, government grants, compensation, the number of employees and assets at the start and end of the year. Because nonprofits can differ by mission, structure and accounting period, the totals are best read as reported financial measures, not as a direct measure of local charitable activity.

Among the ranked non-profits, asset balances rose during the year. Breath Of Life Professional Service reported its total assets increased by 10.2% from the beginning to the end of the year. The Ace Project Inc saw a 6.4% rise in asset balances, and Usaga United States Adaptive Golf Alliance reported a 57.4% increase. American Friends Of Our Armed Forces Walt Vanbenthysen's total assets rose by 14.2%. Total contributions were $497,562 for Breath Of Life Professional Service and $817,447 for The Ace Project Inc, with the latter also reporting $136,067 in all other contributions. Usaga United States Adaptive Golf Alliance received $358,433 in total contributions, including $295,034 in all other contributions, while American Friends Of Our Armed Forces Walt Vanbenthysen reported $340,775 in total contributions and $330,275 in all other contributions.

Tax-exempt organizations include a wide range of groups, such as charities, foundations, educational institutions and other mission-driven organizations. Under IRS rules, 501(c)(3) organizations must be organized and operated for exempt purposes, and their earnings cannot benefit private shareholders or individuals.
