The District Wellness Committee announced on June 1 that The Lane School staff won the annual District-Wide Walking Challenge, an initiative aimed at promoting daily movement and healthier lifestyles among district employees.

Nearly 200 staff members from every building in the district participated in this year's challenge, prioritizing their wellness through collective physical activity. The competition was described as exceptionally fierce, but The Lane School ultimately secured the top spot by combining for more than 8.8 million steps—equivalent to over 4,200 miles covered during the event.

To recognize their achievement and commitment to a healthy lifestyle, The Lane School staff were treated to a celebratory breakfast provided by Citrus Cafe. This gesture served as a token of appreciation for their hard work and team spirit throughout the challenge.

According to organizers, the District-Wide Walking Challenge continues to be a key part of the Wellness Committee’s mission to engage staff in health-promoting activities. By encouraging friendly competition and community support, the initiative underscores the importance of self-care and daily activity for educators and leaders across the district.

"Congratulations once again to The Lane School for their extraordinary achievement!" said committee representatives.
