State Representative Jennifer Sanalitro (R-Hanover Park) has started her third annual Food and Coat Drive, encouraging residents to donate items to help families in need as the holiday season approaches. The drive will run through November 17.
“With grocery prices climbing and SNAP benefits impacted by the federal shutdown, many families are struggling to make ends meet,” said Rep. Sanalitro. “This is the season of giving, and a warm coat or a few canned goods can make a world of difference.”
Donations of new or gently used coats, jackets, hats, gloves, sweatshirts, and non-perishable food items can be dropped off at Sanalitro’s district office at 994 W. Army Trail Rd., Carol Stream. The office is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Those who need to arrange donation times outside regular hours are asked to contact the office directly.
“Together, we can help keep our neighbors warm and fed this holiday season. Thank you for your kindness and generosity,” Sanalitro added.
Sanalitro was elected as a Republican representative for Illinois' 48th House District in 2023, succeeding Terra Costa Howard.
