North Central College’s Joseph Sargent and Wheaton College’s Jack Krahel have been recognized as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Soccer Student-Athletes of the Week. The announcement was made Tuesday.

Sargent, a freshman from Evanston, Illinois, was named the league’s top offensive performer for the second week in a row. He scored three goals over two matches last week. This included both goals in a 2-2 draw against Augustana, with his second goal tying the match. He also scored the opening goal in North Central’s 3-1 win over Elmhurst.

Krahel, representing Wheaton, earned defensive honors for the second consecutive week. He recorded his fifth shutout of the season, the most by any CCIW goalkeeper so far, during Wheaton’s 4-0 win at Augustana. Krahel made four saves in that match. Earlier in the week, he had a season-high seven saves in a game against Illinois Wesleyan, helping Wheaton hand the Titans their first conference loss of the season.

The CCIW also listed previous winners of the weekly offensive and defensive awards for the 2025 season. Sargent and Krahel have each won the honor twice this month.

"Joseph Sargent, North Central, scored three goals last week, including both goals against Augustana in a 2-2 draw last Wednesday. The second goal against Augustana was the game-tying goal, while he scored the first goal in the 3-1 victory over Elmhurst on Saturday," according to the CCIW.

"Krahel notched his fifth shutout of the season – the most by any CCIW keeper to date – in the Thunder’s 4-0 victory at Augustana on Saturday. He made four saves in the win and earlier in the week tallied a season-high seven saves at Illinois Wesleyan last Wednesday, helping Wheaton hand the Titans their first conference loss of the year," the conference reported.

The CCIW continues to recognize outstanding performances from student-athletes throughout the men’s soccer season.
