Three football players from the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) have been recognized for their performances in recent games. Fred Ware from Washington University in St. Louis (WashU) was named Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week after rushing 17 times for 159 yards and scoring two touchdowns during WashU’s win over Illinois Wesleyan. Ware also caught a 6-yard pass, contributing to his team’s current record of 3-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play.

On defense, Bobby Medina of North Central College earned honors by recording 3.5 tackles for loss and three sacks in North Central's 35-0 victory against Wheaton College, which is ranked fourteenth nationally. Medina finished with five total tackles and a quarterback hurry. This shutout marked North Central’s first against Wheaton since 1964.

Matias Adrogue, also from WashU, received recognition for special teams performance. He successfully converted all six point-after attempts, delivered two touchbacks on kickoffs, and executed a 41-yard punt that was fair caught at the opponent’s 11-yard line.

The CCIW continues to announce weekly awards highlighting outstanding individual efforts throughout the football season.
