North Central’s Sarah Lezon, North Park’s Kendal Britton, and Carthage’s Jenna Damon have been recognized as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Volleyball Student-Athletes of the Week. The announcement was made by the league office on Monday.
Sarah Lezon was named Hitter of the Week after averaging 3.63 kills and 4.00 points per set for North Central. Her performance helped the team secure non-conference victories over Aurora, Dominican, and Rhodes. Lezon recorded a .311 hitting percentage on 61 attempts and averaged 0.63 blocks per set. In matches last week, she had nine kills and two blocks against Aurora, six error-free kills versus Dominican, and added 14 kills with two more blocks in the win over Rhodes.
Kendal Britton received Setter of the Week honors for her role in North Park's three consecutive wins against Wisconsin Lutheran, Franklin, and Illinois College. Britton averaged 7.91 assists, 1.82 digs, and 1.00 service aces per set across those matches. She posted 18 assists against Wisconsin Lutheran on Friday, followed by 34 assists, nine digs, and seven service aces versus Franklin on Saturday before recording another 35 assists against Illinois College.
Jenna Damon earned Defensive Player of the Week after leading Carthage to a perfect week with an average of six digs per set in nine sets played. Damon contributed nine digs and four service aces during Carthage’s sweep of Wisconsin-Platteville on Friday. On Saturday, she tallied 23 digs with two aces in a sweep over Colorado College and finished with 22 digs as Carthage defeated Concordia Wisconsin.
The weekly awards recognize standout performances among CCIW athletes throughout the volleyball season.
