Illinois Wesleyan University’s volleyball team has moved up to 14th in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA)/TARAFLEX poll. The Titans advanced two spots after remaining undefeated through six matches this season, following recent wins over Texas Lutheran, Puget Sound, and Southwestern at the SU Invitational in Georgetown, Texas.
The team received 1,003 points in the new poll and is one of 13 teams ranked nationally that have yet to lose a match this year. This start marks the best opening record in program history for Illinois Wesleyan.
Within the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW), three other squads—Millikin, Wheaton, and Carthage—appeared on ballots but did not secure a ranking. Millikin accumulated 78 points, which was the second-highest among unranked teams. Wheaton, also unbeaten with a 7-0 record, collected 16 points, while Carthage registered six points.
Juniata maintained its position at number one with 77 out of 86 first-place votes and a total of 2,126 points. Wisconsin-Whitewater remained second in the rankings, while Wisconsin-Oshkosh rose to third place. Johns Hopkins held fourth place, followed by La Verne. All four top-ranked teams received at least one first-place vote.
