State Representative Amy Grant (R-Wheaton) and State Senator Seth Lewis (R-Bartlett) will host a free community shred event and food drive on Saturday, October 25th. The event is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Wheaton Park District, located at 1777 S. Blanchard Street in Wheaton.
Residents are invited to bring up to two bankers boxes of personal documents for secure, on-site shredding. The service is available at no cost and open to the public. Shredding services will end at noon or when the truck reaches full capacity.
“No appointment is necessary. We encourage residents to take advantage of this opportunity to protect their personal information and support a great cause,” said Rep. Grant. “We’re proud to partner with Senator Lewis to offer this convenient service.”
The event will also feature a food drive benefiting Milton Township Food Pantry Inc., with attendees encouraged to donate unexpired, non-perishable food items for local families in need.
Organizers have provided several reminders: electronics will not be accepted for recycling or disposal; there is a limit of two bankers boxes per vehicle; the event concludes at noon or when the truck is full; and all food donations must be unexpired and non-perishable.
Grant was elected as a Republican representative for Illinois' 47th House District in 2023, succeeding Deanne Mazzochi.
