The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) has named Luke Vander Kolk of Wheaton and Kevin Perez of North Park as the Men’s Soccer Student-Athletes of the Week.

Vander Kolk played a key role in Wheaton's 4-2 win over Chapman at Joe Bean Stadium on Friday, scoring two goals and assisting twice. His second goal, scored at 75:33, was the match winner—the second such achievement in his career. The junior from Stamford, Connecticut led all players with four shots on goal during his 62 minutes on the field. He also led with two shots on target in Wheaton’s 2-2 draw against Colorado College, which is ranked 20th nationally.

Kevin Perez contributed to North Park’s 3-0 victory over Dubuque on Friday by scoring his first career goal just seven minutes into the match at Holmgren Athletic Complex. In his first start for North Park, the Glenview, Illinois native also anchored a defense that did not allow Dubuque any shots on target or corner kicks.

Both student-athletes were recognized for their individual performances and contributions to their teams’ successes last week.
