North Park University's Reece Arakaki has been named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Region 8 All-Defensive Team. The announcement was made Thursday morning.

Arakaki, a four-year starting shortstop for North Park's baseball team, completed the season with only three errors in 144 chances, achieving a fielding percentage of .979. In conference play, he committed just one error and nearly reached 100 assists, totaling 97. He contributed to nine double plays and recorded three or more assists in 17 games this season, including six against Millikin on April 16 and Carroll on April 22.

The selection process for the All-Defensive teams involves voting by members of the ABCA. It is overseen by the ABCA NCAA Div. III All-America & Coach of the Year Committee, chaired by Paul Hesse from the University of Mount Union. Other committee members include Brian Casey from U.S. Coast Guard Academy, Pete Egbert from Misericordia University, Dan Gomez from Western New England University, Ray Hedrick from Randolph-Macon College, Luke Johnson from North Park University, Scott Laverty from Chapman University, Yogi Lutz from Alvernia University, Nick Pontari from Russell Sage College and Kevin Tomasiewicz from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

Players who are selected to the ABCA NCAA Div. III Region All-Defensive teams become eligible for ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove honors. The winners of the 2025 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award across all divisions were announced on Wednesday, June 18.
