Illinois Wesleyan University softball shortstop Jen Kuhn has been named a 2025 Rawlings Gold Glove Award recipient, as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on May 29. Kuhn is the third player from Illinois Wesleyan to receive this honor, following Ava Khoury and Casey Wissmiller who were recognized last season.
Kuhn's defensive skills have been a standout feature of her career at Illinois Wesleyan. This year, she maintained a .983 fielding percentage with only three errors and was instrumental in thwarting opponents' base-stealing attempts. Her collaboration with catcher Claire Post, who ranked among the top-10 nationally for runners thrown out, further highlights her defensive prowess.
Throughout the season, Kuhn recorded 65 putouts and 108 assists while committing just three errors and turning seven double plays. Her contributions helped Illinois Wesleyan achieve a team fielding percentage of .973, ranking them 19th in Division III.
The Rawlings Gold Glove Awards are presented by the NFCA and selected by its NCAA Division III All-America Committee. The selection process involves regional voting based on fielding statistics and school-submitted video to evaluate finalists at each position.
Eligibility for this award requires student-athletes to have competed in the current championship year and be nominated by their head coach, who must be an NFCA member in good standing.
