In a recent legislative session, Illinois Democrats passed a $55.2 billion budget. The budget includes new taxes on vaping, sports betting, and out-of-state sales, affecting working families and small businesses. Lawmakers had less than 48 hours to review the extensive legislation.

The budget features a $1 billion increase in taxes and nearly a 4% rise in spending. It also includes a $100 million fund for the Governor's use, while making cuts to community colleges and providing no property tax relief. Additionally, there is an increase in politicians' salaries.

Critics argue that the budget was developed without transparency and burdens taxpayers. They call for an end to what they describe as reckless spending and urge prioritization of hardworking residents in Illinois.
