The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) had a strong showing at the NCAA Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship held in Geneva, Ohio. The event took place from Thursday to Saturday, and 18 individuals along with a relay team from CCIW earned All-America First Team honors.
Augustana's Charlotte Frere secured her second consecutive national title in the discus event. Illinois Wesleyan's Imani Ogunribido also claimed a national title in the triple jump. These performances contributed significantly to their respective teams' standings.
Augustana achieved its highest-ever finish by placing fifth nationally with 31 points, supported by five First Team All-America performances. Elmhurst followed closely behind, finishing ninth with 22 points.
In the final team standings for CCIW, Augustana led with 31 points at fifth place, Elmhurst was ninth with 22 points, Illinois Wesleyan tied for 14th with 17 points, Carroll tied for 27th with 10 points, North Central tied for 38th with seven points, Carthage tied for 41st with six points, and Millikin was tied for 73rd with one point.
The list of CCIW Women's First Team All-Americans includes several notable athletes. From Augustana: Charlotte Frere (Discus), McKenzie Reser (400 Meter Dash and 200 Meter Dash), Lina Maatouk (800 Meter Run), and Heather Michalski (Javelin). Carroll's Maria Falk excelled in Shot Put and Vanessa Uitenbroek in Discus. Carthage saw Alexis Mattox perform well in Hammer Throw and Abigail Calhoun in Triple Jump.
Elmhurst's achievements included a second-place finish in the 4x100 Meter Relay featuring Tiana Grady, Lauren Marshall, Hannah Schwarz, and Alyssa Busker. Busker also placed third in both the 100 Meter Dash and the 200 Meter Dash. Paulina Tinajero represented Elmhurst in Long Jump.
Illinois Wesleyan celebrated Imani Ogunribido's victory in Triple Jump while Lauren Huber excelled in Heptathlon and Adriana Crabtree competed in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase. Millikin’s De’Andranay Chism participated in the 200 Meter Dash.
North Central’s Faith Ladin showed strength in Javelin and Heptathlon events.
Second Team All-American honors were also awarded to several athletes across different events representing various schools within CCIW.
