Carroll University has claimed its first College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Lacrosse Championship. In a decisive match held at Schneider Stadium, the top-seeded Pioneers defeated second-seeded Carthage with a commanding 12-2 victory.

A trio of Pioneers led the offensive charge, each scoring three goals: CCIW Offensive Student-Athlete of the Year Elizabeth Wang, CCIW First-Year Student-Athlete of the Year Abby Tubbs, and Elaina Phaneuf. Wang and Tubbs also contributed assists, tying with Grace Brockman for the team lead in points. Brockman recorded one goal alongside four assists.

Carroll, favored in the preseason and the regular-season champion, surged ahead with a 4-0 lead by the end of the first quarter, eventually securing the first five goals of the game. Phaneuf scored what would be the game-winning goal with 6:36 remaining in the first period.

Devon Duym made six saves in the victory for Carroll. Carthage's Piper LeFevre scored both of her team's goals, concluding their season with a 13-4 record.

Before the game, Carroll's Sierra Langkamp was honored with the CCIW Elite 26 award, recognizing her academic and athletic excellence in women's lacrosse.

With Saturday’s triumph, Carroll's season record improves to 13-3. The team will represent the CCIW as an automatic qualifier in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
