Elmhurst wins first CCIW women's outdoor track & field championship

Bryan Moore Associate Executive Director | College Conference Of Wisconsin And Illinois

Elmhurst made history by winning its first College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championship. The event took place at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium in Naperville, Illinois, with Elmhurst securing 161.5 points.

Elmhurst’s head coach, Jordan Bartolazzi, along with his coaching staff, received the title of CCIW Coaching Staff of the Meet. Alyssa Busker was honored as the Track Student-Athlete of the Meet, while Brooke Greaves earned the First-Year Field Student-Athlete of the Meet distinction.

Busker excelled in the 100 meters and 200 meters sprints, achieving times of 11.85 seconds and 23.62 seconds, respectively. She also helped the EU 4x100 meter relay team to victory with a time of 45.62 seconds. Greaves won the high jump at 1.58 meters and took third place in the 110 meter hurdles with 14.68 seconds.

North Central achieved second place with 145 points, highlighted by Faith Ladin’s javelin victory and third-place finish in the heptathlon. Ladin received the Field Student-Athlete of the Meet title.

De’Andranay Chism from Millikin was named First-Year Track Student-Athlete of the Meet, finishing second in the 200 meters in 23.78 seconds and third in the 100 meters with a time of 12.03 seconds.

Augustana secured third place with 114 points, while Illinois Wesleyan closely followed with 112.5 points.

Additional accolades included CCIW Women's Elite 26 Awards to Tara Schaalma (Carthage), Esther Brown (Elmhurst), Molly Roberts (Elmhurst), and Sarah Quantanilla (Wheaton). The CCIW Women's RESPECT Awards were awarded to several athletes across different institutions, including Bridget Wunderlich (Augustana) and Emily Mikos (Elmhurst).
