North Central and Augustana will face off in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Tennis Championship final. The final, to be held in Rock Island, Illinois, was set after North Central triumphed over Wheaton with a score of 4-0, while Augustana edged past Carthage 4-3.
This appearance marks the fifth consecutive trip to the final for North Central. In contrast, Augustana returns to the championship match for the first time since 2021, when they narrowly lost to North Central, 5-4.
During the semifinals, North Central secured the doubles point against Wheaton and followed up with straight-sets singles victories from CCIW Student-Athlete of the Year Ramon Vilarroig Martinez, Philipp Wottgen, and Henry Ros.
The semifinal between Carthage and Augustana was more tightly contested. Carthage won the doubles point, but Augustana managed to turn the tables by securing four singles wins. Arthur Hermange and Nicolas Navarro claimed straight-set victories, and the wins by David Larraga and Tim Philip in three-set matches clinched Augustana's 4-3 victory.
