The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) is set to hold its 10th Women’s Lacrosse Championship with the semifinals scheduled for Wednesday and the championship for Saturday. The top four teams from the regular season will compete, and admission to the events will be strictly cash-based, priced at $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and children aged six and up. Children under five and CCIW students with ID can attend for free.

Carroll University has secured the top seed, having won all five of its CCIW games this season and claiming their first conference title since 2021. The Pioneers will host fourth-seeded North Central at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in Waukesha. This semifinal encounter will revisit an April 19 match when Carroll defeated North Central, 17-6, marking Carroll's fifth consecutive victory over North Central and tying their all-time series at 5-5 since 2015.

Carroll, with an 11-3 overall record and undefeated in conference play, aims to reach the championship final for the first time since 2023 and potentially claim their first-ever title. Meanwhile, North Central, making its first postseason appearance since 2019, remains winless in five postseason games, having reached the semifinals consistently from 2015 to 2019.

In the other semifinal, second-seeded Carthage will face third-seeded Illinois Wesleyan at 7 p.m. in Kenosha. Carthage previously triumphed over Illinois Wesleyan, 10-8, in the regular season and leads their series 7-5, having won the last five encounters since 2022. Last season, Carthage defeated Illinois Wesleyan 16-11 in the semifinals.

Carthage boasts a 12-3 record and is strong at home, outscoring opponents 74-27 this season. The Firebirds have been finalists in three of the past four seasons but have yet to win the championship. Illinois Wesleyan, holding an 8-8 record, seeks to break a four-game semifinal defeat streak and return to the finals for the first time since their 2019 title win. They previously claimed three consecutive championships from 2017 to 2019.
