The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) has named its Softball Student-Athletes of the Week for the period from April 21 to April 27. For her outstanding performance at the plate, Aubrey Gradin of Augustana was recognized. Gradin, a freshman from Davenport, Iowa, went 8-for-13, achieving a .615 batting average in four games. Her week included four doubles, three runs scored, and two RBIs. In a doubleheader against Wartburg, Gradin impressively went 4-for-7 with three doubles and added another four hits in games against North Park.
On the pitcher's side, Mallory Holland from Illinois Wesleyan was honored for her contributions. Holland, a sophomore from Shelbyville, Illinois, was awarded for the third time in 2025. She maintained a 0.41 earned run average over 17 innings, allowing just one earned run. Holland's efforts helped Illinois Wesleyan achieve a 6-0 record for the week and a share of the CCIW regular season championship. Her performances included a complete game shutout, earning a 3-0 record and striking out five batters while holding opponents to a .194 batting average.
The CCIW regularly acknowledges exceptional performances throughout the softball season, listing honorees for previous weeks as well, including Abby Whitehead from Wheaton and Clare Rettler from Carthage among hitters, and repeat recognitions for Holland in previous weeks for her pitching performance.
