Mariellyn Vivo Conference Coordinator | College Conference Of Wisconsin And Illinois

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) has announced its selections for Men's Outdoor Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week for the period from March 24 to March 30.

In the track category, Chase Upmann from Carthage achieved a notable performance. The graduate student from Rockford, Illinois, finished 12th in the 800 meters at the WashU Distance Carnival. His time of 1:51.12 set a new personal and school record, placing him fifth nationally according to the NCAA Division III rankings and first in the CCIW standings.

In the field category, Lucas Leal, also from Carthage, was recognized for his victory in the hammer throw. The graduate student from Bartlett, Illinois, topped the competition at the NCC First Chance Invitational with a throw of 58.86 meters. This achievement positions Leal as the current CCIW leader and ranks him third nationally in Division III.
