Bryan Moore Associate Executive Director | College Conference Of Wisconsin And Illinois
The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) has announced the Women's Lacrosse Student-Athletes of the Week for games played between March 24 and March 30.
Piper LeFevre, a junior from Carthage, was named the Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week. LeFevre contributed significantly to Carthage’s 13-9 victory over Calvin on Saturday in Kenosha by scoring five goals and assisting on another. She also added a ground ball and draw control to help the Firebirds reach an 8-1 record.
On the defensive side, Abby MacKenzie, a senior from North Central, received the honor. MacKenzie had previously been recognized as the league’s Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week on March 11. This time, she achieved the defensive award by accumulating five ground balls, four draw controls, and two caused turnovers in the Cardinals’ 13-9 win against Saint Mary’s (Ind.). MacKenzie also contributed offensively with two goals for North Central.
