Illinois teams rank, prepare for upcoming CCIW volleyball matches

The latest CCIW men's volleyball statistics report up to March 26 has been released. Upcoming matches include three on Saturday, March 29, featuring North Park at Augustana, Illinois Wesleyan at Carthage, and North Central at Loras, all starting at 3 p.m. On Wednesday, April 2, North Central plays Augustana, Carthage goes up against North Park, and Illinois Wesleyan faces Loras, with each starting at 7 p.m.

In the latest AVCA poll, North Central climbed five spots to reach the 14th position, the highest jump among teams recently. Carthage and Loras hold the sixth and 13th spots, respectively, maintaining three CCIW teams in the top 14 of Division III. North Central received 199 points, its highest for the 2025 season, while Carthage got 448 points, and Loras obtained 224.

The Division III leader in assists per set is Loras freshman setter Evan Dziadkowiec with an 11.00 average. Loras senior Corey Mayotte leads Division III in kills per set with 5.31 and in points per set with 6.00. He is also ranked second in the nation for attacks per set with 10.80 and 23rd for hitting percentage at .377.

Illinois Wesleyan freshman Gavin Rohlwing ranks sixth in Division III with 1.12 blocks per set. Other high-ranking CCIW players include Loras junior Bo Brainerd III, Carthage senior Ryan Cholewinski, North Central senior Cooper Lundal, and North Park graduate Noah Chanthalangsy, who ranks 11th in digs per set with 3.07.

Augustana's freshman Cole Clarke had 16 kills in a five-set loss at Clarke on Saturday, and he ranks ninth in the CCIW with 3.07 points per set. Carthage's Ben Heise recorded eight kills as Carthage defeated Loras. Illinois Wesleyan's Ethan Kuziela put up 10 kills and five digs against North Central, where Carson Steinbach of North Central achieved 18 kills in a win over UC Santa Cruz.

Meanwhile, Loras improved their ranking with a win over North Park, aided by the exceptional performance of Dziadkowiec, who recorded 38 assists. North Park's Liam Miller reached a career milestone with over 800 career assists as they swept Greenville. The league sees dynamic competition as teams prepare for their upcoming matches.
