Grace Tumilty leads Division III in turnovers; CCIW teams ready for upcoming matches

Carroll University senior Grace Tumilty leads Division III in caused turnovers with 4.50 per game and ranks 14th in ground balls, averaging 4.75 per game. This achievement is noteworthy as the women’s lacrosse season progresses within the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW).

Carthage College sophomore August Claridge records an impressive fifth place in Division III with 5.50 goals per game. Claridge also ranks high nationally in several statistical categories: fifth in shots on goal (9.00 per game), eighth in shots overall (10.75 per game), and 16th in points per game (6.38).

North Central College displays strong talent with senior Abby MacKenzie ranking fifth in draw controls per game at 8.88. Her teammate, senior Annelise Oster, holds a 15th place ranking nationally with a .667 shot percentage. Freshman Alyssa Rose contributes to North Central’s strong performance with a 16th place in goals-against average (6.75).

Carroll’s sophomore Elizabeth Wang shows strong offensive capabilities, ranking 17th in shots on goal per game (7.38) and 19th in overall shots per game (9.50). From Carthage, sophomore Kara Jaynes places 22nd in both goals-against average (7.31) and save percentage (.538).

Within the CCIW, notable performances continue. Augustana’s junior Madison Langewisch scored six goals and made nine draw controls, achieving career-high figures during a 21-15 loss against Albion. Carroll freshman Abby Tubbs delivered four draw controls, a goal, and an assist in an 11-7 game against Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Carthage sophomore August Claridge maintains her lead in the conference for goals per game (5.00) and points per game (6.38). Despite their first loss ending a seven-game streak against Lake Forest, Carthage will face Calvin this Saturday. Elmhurst senior Gracie Eastman continues her scoring efforts with a five-point game despite a 19-5 loss to Lewis & Clark.

Illinois Wesleyan’s Lizzie Rymarcsuk, named CCIW Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week, recorded 11 saves in a 9-6 victory over Wisconsin-Stevens Point. North Central freshman Alyssa Rose reached a personal best with nine saves in a win against Saint Mary’s.

Upcoming matches feature Illinois Wesleyan hosting Wooster, Carroll traveling to Chicago, Carthage playing at home against Calvin, and North Central preparing to play Calvin in Grand Rapids. Other notable games include Elmhurst facing Missouri Valley next week.
