Maureen Harty Executive Director | College Conference Of Wisconsin And Illinois
Brenna Schiekiera, a senior from Marian University, has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Bowling Student-Athlete of the Week. The announcement was made by the league office on Wednesday morning. This recognition is Schiekiera's first weekly CCIW award this season and marks the fourth time in her career she has received this honor.
Schiekiera played a significant role in helping Marian's Sabres secure the CCIW regular-season title last weekend. She began Saturday with a four-game block of traditional games, achieving an average score of 203 and maintaining an 89 percent fill rate during the event's first day. On Sunday, she continued to perform strongly with an 87 percent fill rate and a strike percentage of 45 for the entire weekend.
The list of CCIW Women's Bowling Student-Athletes of the Week for the 2024-25 season includes several other athletes: Annie Honsik from Aurora on February 19, Elana Rimer from Marian on February 12, Lorrie Decker from Elmhurst on January 22, Jocelynn Eggert from Marian on both January 15 and November 27, Elana Rimer again on November 13, Ava Butt from Carroll on November 6, and Kyley Olson from Marian on October 23.
