Marian College secured the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) women's bowling regular-season title after winning five out of six head-to-head matchups over the weekend. The event took place at Bertrand Lanes in Waukegan, Illinois.
The Sabres finished with a combined record of 10-2 across two events, achieving their second consecutive outright league title and marking the fourth consecutive year they have claimed at least a share of the regular-season crown.
Brenna Schiekiera from Marian led all competitors with an average score of 203.0 over the weekend. Elmhurst's Lorrie Decker followed with an average of 199.3, while Annemarie Ruzevich and Emilie Pleshar from Aurora recorded averages of 189.8 and 188.5, respectively.
Carroll University finished in second place with a record of 9-3 and will be seeded second in the upcoming CCIW Tournament later this month. Hannah Bartlett was Carroll's top performer with an average score of 186.0, ranking sixth overall for the weekend. Aurora placed third with a record of 7-5 and is set to face Carroll in the tournament's opening round.
Elmhurst and Augustana tied for fourth place with records of 6-6 each. However, Elmhurst will be seeded fourth due to having an advantage in total pinfall against Augustana in their two matches.
Final standings for the CCIW Women's Bowling are as follows: Marian first at 10-2, Carroll second at 9-3, Aurora third at 7-5, Elmhurst and Augustana tied for fourth at 6-6, Carthage sixth at 4-8, and Illinois Wesleyan seventh without any wins at 0-12.
