Illinois Wesleyan University will host the opening weekend of the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament at the Shirk Center. This marks the first time since 2018 that Illinois Wesleyan will begin its tournament run on home ground. The announcement was made by the NCAA on Monday, March 3.

The third-ranked Titans are set to face Centre College in their opening round. Also participating in this four-team regional are Trine University and Transylvania University, who will compete against each other in another first-round matchup. Trine and Transylvania's game is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Friday, March 7, while the regional championship game is set for Saturday, March 8 at 7:30 p.m.

Illinois Wesleyan secured its spot in the tournament as champions of both the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Regular Season and Tournament. The Titans claimed their first league tournament title since 2022 with victories over Millikin (89-62) and Carroll (95-86), earning an automatic bid to the national tournament.
