Following a successful season and a strong performance at the CCIW Championships, Wheaton swimmer Tess Boyer has earned a spot at the NCAA Division III Championships. Boyer will compete in three events at the meet scheduled for March 19-22 in Greensboro, North Carolina. She is the first Thunder women's swimmer to qualify for the national finals since Abby Pardridge in 2020. Due to the cancellation of that year's championships, Boyer will be Wheaton's first female swimmer to participate in the NCAA meet since Brooke Barnes in 2019.
Boyer was named the CCIW Women's Swimming Student-Athlete of the Meet after securing three individual gold medals and four relay titles in Pleasant Prairie. She is also the only women's swimmer from her conference to qualify for this year's NCAA meet. Her victories last week were in the women's 200-yard individual medley, 400-yard individual medley, and 200-yard butterfly competitions. Boyer will swim these events again at the NCAA Championships on March 19th, 20th, and 21st respectively.
The preliminary races are set to start each day at 10:00 AM (EDT), with event finals beginning at 6:00 PM (EDT) each evening. The official NCAA website will offer a free video stream for every day of competition, and live results will be available through both Wheaton Athletics and NCAA websites.
