Carthage College has entered the D3hoops.com rankings at number 23 following its first outright College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) championship since 2010. The announcement came on Monday, just two days after Carthage secured the title. Illinois Wesleyan University also featured in the rankings, positioned at number 16.

The Firebirds have been on a six-game winning streak, with recent victories over Elmhurst and Millikin, ending those games with scores of 83-71 and 84-77 respectively. These wins improved Carthage's overall record to 20-5 and their CCIW record to 14-2. In the latest poll, D3hoops.com voters awarded Carthage 92 points, marking them as one of two previously unranked teams to enter the top 25 this week.

Illinois Wesleyan University shares a similar season record of 20-5. The Titans earned 259 points in the poll, securing their spot at number 16 after splitting their league games last week. This included an 87-81 victory against North Park at home.

The top three spots in the rankings remain unchanged with Wesleyan maintaining an unbeaten record of 25-0, followed by NYU at 23-1 and Wisconsin-Platteville at 23-2.
