Augustana College's men's swimming and diving team secured their third consecutive title at the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) championships. The event took place at the Pleasant Prairie RecPlex in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, where Augustana amassed a total of 926 points.
This victory marks the first time since 1969-1971 that the Vikings have achieved three straight league titles. Dan Lloyd, head coach of Augustana, was named CCIW Coach of the Year. Tyler Leslie received recognition as the CCIW Student-Athlete of the Meet.
Leslie excelled by finishing first in multiple events: the 200 individual medley, 200 freestyle, and 400 freestyle. He also contributed to victories in both the 400 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay.
Carthage College finished second with a score of 885.5 points. Taydin Murphy from Carthage earned the CCIW Diving Student-Athlete of the Meet award after winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions.
Jed Ritchie from Wheaton College was recognized as CCIW First-Year Student-Athlete of Meet, aiding his team to secure third place with a total of 819 points.
The CCIW Elite 26 awards were given to Mark Addison from Augustana and Logan Dales from Carthage. This accolade is awarded to student-athletes who demonstrate excellence both academically and athletically within each sport sponsored by CCIW.
