Sean Casten emphasizes mental health initiatives and celebrates Black History Month

Rep. Sean Casten, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Illinois’ 6th district since 2019, shared insights into his recent activities and thoughts through a series of tweets. Casten, originally from Dublin, Ireland, is an advocate for mental health in aviation and a proponent of recognizing Black history as an integral part of American history.

On February 19, 2025, Rep. Sean Casten tweeted about his participation in Lewis University’s Fostering Positive Mental Health in Aviation Program. He stated: "Earlier this week, I participated in Lewis University’s Fostering Positive Mental Health in Aviation Program. I spoke about my pilot mental health work in Congress and appreciated the opportunity to hear from aviation students."

The following day, on February 20, 2025, Casten highlighted the importance of Black History Month with a tweet that read: "February is Black History Month. Today and every day, let’s celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of Black Americans and remember that Black history is American history."

On February 21, 2025, he addressed concerns from small businesses within his district regarding federal funding by tweeting: "My office has been contacted by numerous small businesses who rely on federal funding to operate in our district. Listen to one example."
