The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its selections for the Women’s Indoor Track & Field Student-Athletes of the Week. These athletes were recognized for their performances in competitions held from February 10 to February 16.
Lauren Marshall, a graduate student from Elmhurst, was honored in the track category. Marshall achieved a personal best by winning the 60 meters at the Chicagoland Indoor Championship hosted by North Central in Naperville. Her time of 7.60 seconds is currently second in the CCIW and fourth nationally this season. Additionally, she placed second in the 200 meters with a time of 25.64 seconds.
In the field category, Madison Payne, a junior from Carthage, was recognized for her performance in shot put at the Midwest Elite Invitational hosted by Wisconsin-Whitewater. Payne's throw measured at 14.08 meters, marking her lifetime best and ranking first on this season’s league list as well as third nationally within Division III for the current year.
The announcement also included previous weekly winners throughout the indoor track and field season.
