The Carthage College men's basketball team secured a victory against Elmhurst with a score of 83-71 on Wednesday night. This win clinched the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) regular-season title for Carthage, marking their first such achievement since 2017.
Carthage is set to host the semifinal round on February 28 and the championship game on March 1 at Tarble Arena in Kenosha.
In the game, all five Firebird starters contributed significantly by scoring in double-digits: AJ Johnson scored 17 points, Ryan Johnson had 16, Griffin Daun added 15, Riley Brooks also scored 15, and AJ Williams contributed with 14 points.
Both Ryan Johnson and Griffin Daun achieved double-doubles by adding 11 rebounds each. AJ Williams secured eight rebounds while Riley Brooks collected six. Additionally, AJ Johnson and Griffin Daun provided four assists each.
