Carthage sophomore Ryan Johnson has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Student-Athlete of the Week for the third time this season, as announced by the league on Monday.
Johnson contributed significantly to Carthage's success last week, averaging 23.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. His performance helped maintain Carthage's position at the top of the CCIW standings and extended their winning streak to four games. Over two games, he successfully made 15 out of 19 free throws.
In a close match against North Central last Wednesday, Johnson scored 22 points, secured nine rebounds, and provided an assist in a narrow 73-71 victory. In another game three days later against Wheaton, he excelled by shooting 9-for-12 from the field for a total of 24 points. He also collected 11 rebounds, along with a steal and a blocked shot, contributing to an 89-80 win.
