North Central College, the two-time defending champion, was voted as the favorite in a preseason coaches' poll. The Cardinals recently secured the league's regular-season title on February 6th and have maintained an impressive streak of 57 consecutive CCIW dual victories. They currently hold eighth place in national dual rankings and ninth in tournament rankings by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA).
Weigh-ins are scheduled to start at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Eleven CCIW student-athletes have been nationally ranked by the NWCA last week, including eight from North Central College. Among them, Christian Guzman stands out with the highest ranking at #2 in the 125-pound category.
In regional rankings, 41 wrestlers from all ten CCIW programs have been recognized, with North Central leading with ten ranked athletes, followed by Millikin with seven, and Augustana, Aurora, and MSOE each having five regionally ranked competitors.
